Walking round the National Stone Centre siteThe National Stone Centre welcomes groups to visit our site. Various guided tours of the site and a visit to a local working quarry are available for groups of between 10 and 25 by pre-booking.

Pre-booked groups (10 to 25 people, maximum of 6 groups) can also try fossil casting, gem panning, rocks and minerals and soil sorting.

Gem panning at the National Stone CentreAll group leaders, whether taking part in NSC activities or supervising their own groups, must complete a Health and Safety Statement. Group leaders must contact the NSC offices before the visit, and the Health and Safety Statement must be signed and returned to us before the group visit takes place.

Groups not involved in National Stone Centre activities are asked to make a reasonable donation towards the maintenance of the site – please contact us for further information.

Booking Details

For each visit, groups will need to check by telephone that the date of their chosen visit is available and for details and prices.

The booking will be confirmed on receipt of the signed Health and Safety statement (pdf file).
